Home At The Ohel | FAQS
Where are you located?
One block from the Ohel, on a large, corner lot.
How many beds do you have?
The uniqueness of Home at the Ohel is not how many people it can sleep. It is the warm, comfortable living and dining space, the thoughtful details, and our stubborn insistence on re-investing in the home to keep it clean, comfortable and in great working order.
There are sixteen twin-size beds, and one twin size couch that opens to a bed.
What do you provide for Shabbos?
Before we created this home, we visited the Ohel as a family many times, so we know what we always wished we had for Shabbos, and that’s what we provide. Every Shabbos stay includes Shabbos candles, Becher, Challah board, cover and knife, Havdalah candle and besomim, hot water urn, crock pot and 2.5 cubic ft. mini-fridge (whole home rentals include metal flatware with service for 24 and the large kitchen refrigerator). …Did we forget anything?
How many can the Simcha Hall seat?
Dozens of high-end Simchas have been held in the hall – Bar/Bas Mitzvas, Brisim, Upshernishes, Sheva Brochos, L’chaims, Siyumei Sefer Torah, and everything else under the sun.
Depending on your caterer or party planner’s layout of choice, you should be able to fit up to about 100 people around tables.
We provide 100 chairs – 90 or-so high-quality Lifetime padded chairs, plus 20 plastic folding chairs, eight 8’ black heavy-duty Lifetime tables, and three rounds of various sizes.
